He aha ōu whakaaro ki TECT Park?

What would you add to TECT Park?

TECT Park is home to a variety of activities that need a lot of space, make a lot of noise or are just a little too wild for the suburbs. What else could TECT Park host for the community alongside our current groups?

TECT Park Survey

Our well-loved, award winning TECT Park is now 10 years old.

TECT Park is home to a variety of activities that need a lot of space, make a lot of noise or are just a little too wild for the suburbs.

There are many activities currently at TECT Park that are either club based or accessible to the general community, and there's capacity for further growth in facilities, activities, and new initiatives.

What else would you like to experience at TECT Park? What else could it host for our community? That’s what we asked the community in our recent consultation.

The feedback we received is just the first step to guide our thinking as we plan to create a 10-year plan for the park. There will be another opportunity to share your thoughts when we have collated these ideas into a draft future plan for the park.

Community consultation opened on Monday, 21 August 2023 and closed on 5pm Sunday, 17 September.

About TECT Park

The award-winning, 1650-hectare TECT Park is now 10 years old.

It's the base for many outdoor sports user groups, including a variety of club shooting ranges, like pistol, clay target, deerstalkers, paintball and airsoft. There's also a club motocross track and model aircraft flying fields.

TECT Park also has free public facilities including tracks for walking, mountain biking, horse riding, and motorcycling, plus a dedicated off-leash dog exercise area, indoor classroom, BBQ and camping facilities (including freedom camping). It’s also home to the popular Adrenalin Forest high-wire adventure course.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Tauranga City Council jointly purchased TECT Park in 2004 with a vision to create a giant adventure playground, and a permanent home for big activities.

Supported by naming rights sponsor TECT, the park continues to focus on sustainability, education, cultural significance and participation.
