Arataki Park Master Plan

Tauranga City Council has kicked off a project to create a vision for the future development of Arataki Park.

Tauranga City Council has kicked off a project to create a vision for the future development of Arataki Park. We will be engaging with key stakeholders and the wider community to develop a masterplan  for Arataki Park from now until the end of 2023.

The project will result in an overarching plan (or masterplan) to guide the future development of Arataki Park.

The masterplan will guide our investment in the park and immediately surrounding Arataki Park. We have already had a few conversations to determine some of the current issues.

What we heard was:

  • There is a shortage of sporting facilities like clubrooms to support the activities on the park
  • Access to the park and across the park is confusing
  • The diversity of play experiences needs to improve
  • There is not enough car parking at peak times
